Serving Columbia County

Integration & Coordination

Integration and Coordination means that we work collaboratively to build resilience together. We’ve created a collective impact framework, which means that across our various sectors (Education, Healthcare, Child Welfare, and Community) we have a shared vision, shared data, coordinated activities, continuous communication, and operational support.

Integration and Coordination is important in addressing childhood trauma and building resilient communities because no one individual or organization can do this work alone. Working collaboratively toward shared goals is essential, as children and families interact with many systems, from education to healthcare. Integration and Coordination allows us to better support children in our community, ensuring all sectors are actively involved.

Goal 1: Adopt and integrate collective impact framework

Goal 2: Increase adoption of trauma-informed practices by service providers/organizations

Goal 3: Increase understanding of how trauma, chronic stress & adversity affect brain development, individual behaviors and children’s capacity to learn

  • Number organizations trained in Trauma Informed Care (TIC)
  • Number organizations with TIC plan and implementation strategies
  • Number trainings in Neurobiology, Epigenetics, Adverse Childhood Experiences, and Resilience (NEAR) science
  • Individuals report increased awareness

Increase cross-sector collaboration to align efforts and leverage funds supporting this work

  • Set up sector workgroups and ensure funding needs are understood, prioritized, and strategically sought
  • Develop/identify clear and operational definition of TIC
  • Develop a communication strategy, branding; provide models
  • Learn more about what trauma and resilience looks like in particular subgroups (communities of color, etc.)
